miniRPC is a remote procedure call library which works on top of TCP and other stream-oriented transports.  It is designed to be more powerful than SunRPC and easier to use.  Like SunRPC, it communicates using the [http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4506.txt XDR] data representation.

miniRPC is a fairly new library, and all of the usual caveats apply.  However, it is believed to be stable, and is in use by multiple development projects.
